Zucchini season is truly among us, for fellow gardeners I'm sure you know what it's like to find out one zucchini you missed picking has turned into a baseball bat sized zucchini, and at the market you'll find zucchini galore as well! I have had zucchini five nights in a row, but in five different forms (you got to keep things interesting!) Just this morning I added some leftover zucchini to a banana/berry smoothie and it blended right in! If you have some awesome zucchini recipes, please share them!
This weekend we will have live music by Hiram and the Walkers (Judy and Ken Holiday) as well as a new artisan, Matt Williams, who makes some creative and beautiful bird houses!
*If you are looking for something to do this Thursday, check out downtown's Taste and Tour of all the local restaurants that line the streets of Indiana. Ask your chefs, "Do you buy produce locally?" and encourage the discussion of keeping things local!!*
*Saturday is the Citizens Helping Citizens 5K starting right beside the market, be sure to come early if you want some goodies before the runners finish their race! :) *

Greek Salad--I added chicken marinated in fresh oregano, olive oil, & lemon juice for a protein boost (chickens from Mountain View Acres of course!)

Grilled Beet Salad--I had just a couple beets leftover and decided to grill them and add them to some fresh lettuce for a lighter, cooler meal on these hot hot hot days!
