June 25 & 28 Market Preview

Tomatoes, potatoes,
& canned goods
Jeff's Produce
Last week brought a variety of weather during our market days, with Wednesday being beautiful and Saturday being another wet, chilly, & rainy morning!  Wednesday we had another large crowd, showing us that our new location is turning into quite the success!  Saturday we had to cancel our live food demonstration by Nap's Cucina Mia due to the weather, but the food demo is rescheduled for Saturday, July 12, mark your calendar (that's also a FULL day of events at the market)!  Let's hope for clear skies for both of our markets this week, and hopefully we see a larger crowd for Saturday!!

This week brings a new artist & musician group as well as a booked Community Tent. There will be no Kid's Tent this week.
I will be out of town for a week starting this Saturday through Saturday, July 5, so the Kid's Tent will be absent for two weeks, sorry! We also did not scheduled the other tents, Artisan/Musician/Community, for Saturday July 5 due to the holiday weekend.  I will do my best to try and update the blog/newsletter/facebook page while I'm away, but note that the market is still going on even if you don't receive updates!!

*Strawberry season is coming to an end, buy some when you can! It's been a short season for these tasty berries due to our harsh winter and wet springtime weather*

Check out this delicious recipe for rhubarb bread, a great breakfast bread that we've been gobbling up all week!

And did you know that you can grill beets? Check out this quick and easy recipe for grilled beets, I've substituted feta cheese for ricotta, and I think goat cheese would go well too!
Grilled Beets
This recipe uses a handful of market produce from kale to tomatoes to onions, the fresher the better!
