Opening Day, Saturday, June 6!!!

Well it is finally here, Saturday, June 6th from 9am-noon, opening day for the 2015 Indiana County Farmers' Market, 8th and Church Street in downtown Indiana!  Opening day will bring familiar faces of well loved vendors as well as faces of new vendors bringing a variety of new products and goods to our market!
Our farmers have been busy preparing for opening day, washing lettuce, keeping kale cool, digging up radishes, and finding those perfectly red, ripe strawberries just for you, our valued customer!! With the beginning of market brings the season for numerous products like salad greens, root vegetables (carrots, radishes, beets), strawberries, herbs, and maybe even an early tomato or two! It's been a long and very cold winter here in Indiana and we are sure you're taste buds are ready for some fresh picked, right out the soil produce, and we are ready to sell them to you!
Along with all of our vendors (the whole list can be found on our VENDOR page), we will also have Yoga in our Kid's Tent, lead by Ed Stancombe of Sunflower Yoga Studios (adults are welcome to join, yoga is for everyone!), and new to our Community Tent we welcome Wise Women Natural Health Collective.

We wanted to remind everyone, while we at the Farmers' Market are very fond of pets of all kinds, due to PA Dept of Ag regulations no pets are permitted at the market. If you do bring a pet, please tie them up outside of the market, sorry for any inconvenience!!

We cannot wait for our first day and are even more excited to see all of our old familiar customers and new first time market visitors.  So bring a friend, bring your family, do some yoga, buy some of the freshest local goods around, and come on out to our opening day!!

New Vendors & New Artists

We are just TWO WEEKS away from opening day and we'd like to take this rainy Sunday to introduce two new artists who will be in our Artisan Tent this season as well as two new vendors who will be joining our market!  We may even have more new vendors to share as the time nears. Check out our Vendor Page to learn more about all of our vendors this season!

At our Artisan Tent on Saturday, June 13 will be Emily Lasinsky, click on our Artist page to read her bio!  Another new artist this season is Tyler Gaston of Gaston Woodworking who will be at the market Saturday, July 18. Check out his bio too at our Artist page!

And we are very excited to welcome new vendor Mahoning Creek Farm of Smicksburg, PA. You can check them out at their facebook page.  They are a 4th generation family farm and are sure to bring some exciting new products to our market!

Another new vendor this season is Mother Earth Farm of Indiana, PA. This is especially exciting for me personally for this is my own farm, started last fall. My farm is a small scale naturally grown produce farm. Everything is grown without the use of chemicals, like earth intended! Find unique heirloom & organic produce! Check out the facebook page.

Market season is almost here!

Hello everyone! How exciting is it that our opening market day is less than 1 month away!  Saturday, June 6 cannot come soon enough, and I personally know that all of our farmers have been super busy this spring preparing for the start of our season! We also have received a couple new vendor applications for this season that we hope to share with you soon!!

Children's Yoga 2014

I wanted to make note of a couple things before the start of the season and regular blog updates and E-Newsletter blasts!

First, our Wednesday market time has changed this year to start half an hour earlier, but still end the same time as we have in the past. Wednesday market will run from 3:00-5:30 and will be located again this year along Wayne Ave across from the KCAC!

Second, we have already started scheduling our special tents, and have the first Saturday of June, July, and August booked by Sunflower Yoga Studio's yoga instructor Ed Stancombe who will be hosting children's yoga in the Kid's Tent (but anyone can participate!!)


Lastly, we still need to fill our schedule in our special tents with artists, musicians, community organizations, and children activities!  PLEASE share, this is a great way for a group or individual to get out there, meet the public, and have their artwork/music or organization shared with a wide variety of consumers!
