This weekend we are welcoming the return of our extra tents with three tents scheduled and a huge collaboration event with PASA (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture) and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank called Harvest for the Hungry. With the help of community volunteers and YOU, we will be collecting produce to donate to our local food bank. We will also have live music thanks to a market favorite, Tim Ball's one-man-band, Snapology will be featured at our Kid's tent with activities, and the Community tent will feature again the First Annual IUP SEEDS Club Community Seed Swap.At our Wednesday market you will find The League of Women Voters registering community members to vote and FREE blood pressure screening thanks to Beacon Ridge nurses!
We are still looking for artists, musicians, community groups, and children's activites to schedule events in our extra tents for September and October. If you are interested in participating in one of our tents, please email us at indianafarmmarket@gmail.com. If you know of anyone or any organization that would be interested in participating in a Saturday market, please spread the word that we are scheduling now!
With the changing of seasons, things are also changing around the market. You'll notice that our Wednesday market is getting a bit smaller, with many vendors not having enough produce to sell at both markets, and you'll notice a lot more pumpkins, gourds, and squash, a true sign of the autumn season! We hope to see you at the market this week, and note that we only have 3 Wednesday markets left in the season. Our Saturday markets will run all the way through October.
