Week of September 11 & 14

School is back in session, mornings have been a bit cooler, and fall produce in coming into season.  Signs of fall are moving in, but we're staying right here!  The Saturday market is open all the way through October, and our Wednesday market runs until October 2.  That means you've still got 7 more weeks to enjoy the freshest produce around and lots of other locally-produced goodies!

Speaking of fall produce, we are starting to see more winter squash and pumpkins.  Buck Run Honey was set up last week, and Lone Oak Farm had their very own real luffa (or loofah, if you prefer) for sale!  Country Blue also returned and provided some great live music!

This week, Home Instead Senior Care will be on hand at the Saturday market with information about their programs and in-home services that seek to "enhance the lives of aging adults and their families."  Color To Dye For will be in the artisan booth with unique hand-dyed clothing, accessories, and fabric.

Harvest for the Hungry is September 21!

September is Hunger Action Month, so we set aside one day each year to collect donations for a local food pantry.  Just purchase extra food at the market and drop it off at the market information booth.

There will also be live music, healthy food samples, and more.  Bring the whole family for a fun morning at the market, and help fight hunger in our community!
