Try making these salad dressings at home and store them in the fridge for up to two weeks. They can be paired with your favorite in-season vegetables from the farmers' market. A couple of these recipes include the use of honey which can also be purchased at our farmers' market.
Instructions for each recipe are the same: beat the ingredients together until well-mixed, or place in a jar and shake until emulsified. Then salt and pepper to taste, shaking again to mix.
Basic Salad Dressing
1 tsp brown mustard
2 1/2 Tbsp wine vinegar (white or red)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
*Add fresh herbs such as basil or thyme to this recipe for an herby flavor
Honey Lemon Dressing
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup lemon juice (approx. 3 lemons if using fresh)
1 Tbsp honey or more to taste
Toasted Sesame Dressing
2 tsp sesame oil
2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp soy sauce
4 Tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp freshly grated ginger
2 tsp green onions chopped finely
1 tsp honey
